About Cromwell

Cherry Tree Homestay is a gentle five minute walk to historic ‘Old Cromwell Town’ and the shores of Lake Dunstan.

Cromwell is the hub for the Central Otago wine region - with the many vineyards in the surrounding area producing some of New Zealand’s finest Pinot Noir. We are fortunate to have a number of world class golf courses nearby (clubs available) as well as being within an hour from four of the country’s best ski areas, and 20 minutes to the start of the famous Otago Central Rail Trail.

  1. Spacious ground floor Queen Room with private bathroom (bath and separate shower)
  2. Upstairs Double Room with private bathroom (shower only)
  3. Upstairs Twin Room (two singles) with private bathroom facilities (shower only)

A sunny, private (upstairs) lounge/library room is also available for guests to use.

Your Hosts

Stuart & Adrienne Heal have travelled extensively throughout New Zealand and the world and are now fortunate to live and work in Cromwell.

As active Rotarians, we enjoy being involved in community and international initiatives. As such, we love meeting interesting new people and getting to know you as we share our home. Our knowledge of the area and attractions ensure we’re well equipped to help you get the best out of your visit to Central Otago.

Or if it’s a slower pace you enjoy, you are welcome to relax in our garden with our dog ‘Phoebe’ – a Springer Spaniel.

Dinner (Optional)

Our guests are welcomed and encouraged to dine with us (pre-booking required). You will enjoy beautiful home cooked meals and/or summer barbeques showcasing our home grown vegetables and locally sourced meats and produce (vegetarian meals are available on request).

All meals (courses) can be matched with local wines from the famous Central Otago Wine region.

All guests are welcome to enjoy a complimentary continental breakfast including homemade cereals, breads and jams as well as home grown fruits and vegetables (dependent on season).
